It is a succulent species valued as an ornamental potted species for its distinct leaf shape. Unlike some other succulents, haworthia Emelyae var. Comptoniana should be protected from direct sunlight and requires regular watering in cultivation. This species can withstand light frost, but not heavy frost. Haworthia Emelyae var. Comptoniana grows in South Africa, but is rarely observed in the wild.
